Format

Each step is based on the CERT size-up framework used to evaluate the approach to a disaster. Each section contains questions to answer or tasks to complete.

Notes

1. The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program is a federal, volunteer-based initiative that educates and trains community members in disaster preparedness and basic emergency response skills. You might know it as the CORE program. It is free and highly informative. You also get useful swag at the end.
2. A lot of these steps are ongoing and all of them can be done in a different order, if that order better suits your needs.
3. The very first step is always making sure you (and your immediate household) are prepared. Everything else should follow after you are taken care of.
