- [ ] Add all local Emergency numbers from ‣ as contacts
- [ ] Locate your gas/utility shut-off
- [ ] Keep one go bag in the car, one at home + CERT bag
- [ ] Get cash out, small bills
- [ ] Keep maps of your area & download Offline Google Maps
- [ ] Understand your local risks
- [ ] Make a stay-kit with comfort food you really like
- [ ] Have shoes under your bed
- [ ] Bolt + Brace Program ($5k grant)
- [ ] Earthquake Insurance
- [ ] Child safety locks for cupboards
- [ ] Museum puddy wax for book shelves
- [ ] If you have pets, practice putting them in a carrier
- [ ] Don’t buy boot leg chargers, Reduce electrical hazards

🔤 Useful Lingo
- L.I.E.S - limit, isolate, eliminate, separate household chemicals/products
- P.A.S.S. - Pull, aim, squeeze, sweep
- 30, 2, Can Do - respirations under 30, perfusion under 2 secs, can do mental status
- ICS - Incident Command System
- Sirens - 1st Wednesday each month
- Long steady tone - shelter in place
- Slow up and down - Tsunami, get higher ground
- Fast wail tone - Wildfire
- Hayward Fault - The fault line that runs along Highway 13
🔥 Fire + Gas
- Call local fire emergency number **** not 911
- Closing doors will stop fire from spreading too quickly
- Wet towels under the door will stop smoke
- CO2 makes you loopy + is odorless
- If activated by CERT, always use a buddy system
